For a research presentation on the barriers to school/community organization partnership that Boston's school assignment model generates.

Boys and Girls Club's Performing Arts Center

Danielle Mulligan is a senior at Tufts University and has focused her senior thesis on how school and community partnerships in Boston are impacted by the current school assignment model. The majority of her research has taken place at Charlestown High School where she's learned about the various challenges that the school faces in building partnerships with the local Charlestown neighborhood, and CHS students' home neighborhoods and families if they do not live locally. Her research methods included GIS analysis, interviews with teachers, and an asset-mapping activity with CHS students.
