Update: Mayor Walsh will be visting the event at 11:00 am on Sunday morning.

 

Join the Friends of the Charlestown Navy Yard and Charlestown Chamber of Commerce as we honor City Councilor Sal LaMattina for his work representing Charlestown on the Boston City Council.

This is a FREE FAMILY EVENT!

We will have a big screen viewing of the Patriots game and activities for children. 

Light refreshments will be available.

Free events for the whole family!

All around Charlestown, businesses and restaurants will be offering discounts, special giveaways, entertainment, treats, and raffles, ending with a holiday Winter Wonderland at the Training Field.   The Winter Wonderland will include Selfies with Santa, hot chocolate and local vendors with unique holiday gifts for sale.

Look for this poster in participating shop windows and for the map and listing in the Patriot Bridge and posted here.

Boston River Run 2017

John Narcus, a 2014 Bunker Hill Community College alumnus, is a founder of the Boston River Run 5K (www.bostonriverrun.com), held annually in memory of his brother, Corporal Andrew Graham Narcus, USMC. Proceeds from this year’s race will benefit the Andrew Graham Semper Fi Endowed Scholarship Fund at Bunker Hill Community College. The 2017 Boston River Run (5K and 3K) will be held on Sunday, November 12, 2017, at 9 a.m. on Soldiers Field Road.

USS Constitution’s 1997 Sail

The USS Constitution Museum invites you to a conversation with the crew who sailed “Old Ironsides” for the first time in 116 years.

USS Constitution underwent a major restoration between 1992 and 1996 which refurbished her to the most historically accurate state of the 20th century.  With “Old Ironsides’” keel straightened and hull significantly strengthened, Commander Michael C. Beck’s vision to sail her became a possibility.

Halloween Costume and Tricks Contest for Dogs

Back by popular demand! CharlestownDogs is hosting another Halloween Costume contest, and Tricks for Treats contest. The event will involve leashed dogs in costume parading in front of a panel of judges, and later performing their best trick! Party begins at 10, costume parade begins at 10:45. The party will feature coffee for humans and treats bags for dogs, plus a fundraiser for our organization. JUDGES WANTED: Kids or adults- contact us if you'd like to volunteer!
