Volunteer Office Coordinator - Ronald McDonald House at Boston Harbor


Ronald McDonald House at Boston Harbor is seeking a volunteer to work a minimum of three hours per week in an administrative support role. This reliable, detail oriented individual will work alongside the staff. This is an excellent opportunity for someone interested nonprofit operations or who is looking to improve their administrative skills. The office coordinator volunteer is expected to work at least one regularly scheduled three hour shift per week in the Ronald McDonald House at Boston Harbor office between 9am and 5pm. Duties will vary as needs change, but include answering the office phone, data entry, drafting communications, answering guest family questions as needed, assisting with various projects and covering the office when staff are not on-site. The person working in this position must be comfortable working without direct supervision and working with people from diverse ethnic and social backgrounds and sensitive to the health issues and limitations of the population that we serve.

Role Specifics and Qualifications:

  • Must be an excellent writer and possess superior verbal communication skills
  • Must have strong organizational skills
  • Must pay strong attention to detail
  • Must be able to take direction well, but take initiative when required
  • Must be able to work independently and also as part of a team
  • Must have some experience working with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint or comprable software
  • Must have some experience working with Google Docs & Google Sheets
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Must be willing and able to pass a CORI background check and/or provide personal references
  • Must be willing and able to sign a confidentiality agreement and liability release form
  • Must attend quarterly volunteer meetings
