Labor and Workforce Development Secretary Rosalin Acosta to Speak at Bunker Hill Community College Commencement

Boston, May 7, 2018 – State Secretary Rosalin Acosta will be the keynote speaker at Bunker Hill Community College (BHCC)’s 44th Commencement exercises, on Saturday, May 19, 2018, on the Charlestown Campus.

“Secretary Acosta can understand the challenges faced by many of our students,” said BHCC President Pam Eddinger. “She shares the passion of promoting pathways into the workforce through education and training.”

BHCC Student Wins First Place in STEM Conference Presentation

Bunker Hill Community College (BHCC) Engineering Transfer student Danial Haei Najafabadi was awarded first place in the Physics category for his oral presentation at the 2018 Emerging Researchers National (ERN) Conference in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math).

BHCC Students Honored at State House Ceremony

On Wednesday, April 18, 2018, two Bunker Hill Community College (BHCC) students were honored at a ceremony hosted by the Massachusetts Community College Executive Office (MCCEO), celebrating 34 of the highest academic achievers of the Commonwealth’s community college system.

BHCC’s Susan Benitez and Mussie Demisse were presented with medallions and certificates for being named to Phi Theta Kappa’s (PTK) All-Massachusetts Academic Team.

SMART CHOICES Charlestown

Program Overview:

Established in 1992, the Smart Choices Program is designed to strengthen the capacity of agencies located in Charlestown to meet the health and human service needs of the community. Over $4.5 million dollars has been invested in the community since its inception.  

The goal of Smart Choices is to help community based organizations address the health priorities of the community and to work together to increase their impact and reach.
